The AeroTech Disposable Motor System DMS is a single-use motor in kit form that is assembled by the user. All of the Aerotech DMS motors use all-disposable components. The nozzle and propellant are already installed. You will need to set the desired delay time using the Universal Delay Drilling Tool (UDDT), Not Included, and then pour in the ejection charge. The Universal Delay Drilling Tool (UDDT) is required to adjust to a shorter time delay on all DMS rocket motors and is available in the AeroTech Accessories section of this website.
DMS motors feature a filament-wound fiberglass casing, a glass-reinforced composite phenolic nozzle, a molded plastic bulkhead and RCSs exclusive Dark Matter™ aerospace grade composite propellant formulation. Dark Matter™ is a sparky propellant, but unlike Metalstorm™ with its higher ISP and white smoke, Dark Matter™ is a black smoke sparky motor. As with all rocket motors using spark-generating propellants, special precautions must be taken to avoid fires around the launch pad by clearing the immediate area of all combustible materials in accordance with applicable fire and safety codes.
This AeroTech motor pack comes with 1 rocket motor and 1 FirstFire™ Initiator. Requires HAZMAT shipping via UPS or FEDEX. The sale of this high power motor to persons under 18 years of age is currently prohibited by federal law. This is a High-Power motor requiring Level 1 High-Power certification through NAR or Tripoli to purchase. Orders containing this item will not be shipped until proof of age (such as a copy of a driver’s license) and proof of Level 1 certification is received.
Certified by the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA), the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR).
